The Annunciation by Deborah L. Duffield

The Annunciation.

Artist's Musings:
I have always loved the art of the Renaissance era (15th to 16th Centuries). When I first saw the movie "The Agony and the Estacy",about Michaelangelo when he was painting the Cistene Chapel, I was moved with the awesome beauty and inspired to later in life try to reproduce these masterpieces. Knowing it would be impossible ,I felt it would still be a learning and spiritual process. In today's society we seem to have lost this reverence toward God in our modern art which is echoed in the moral decay and lost souls yearning for meaning to their lives. I am a self-taught artist still learning and growing with the tools of the Pencil, Pen and Pastel stick and wanting to share this inspiration with the World.
